Description: “Monsters University” (2013) tells the story of young Mike Wazowski, who dreams of becoming a Scarer—a monster responsible for entering the human world at night to frighten children and collect their screams for energy. His inspiration comes from a school field trip to Monsters, Incorporated, the most successful scaring company in Monstropolis. Eleven years later, Mike enrolls as a first-year scare major at Monsters University, where he crosses paths with James P. “Sulley” Sullivan. While Mike dedicates himself to studying, Sulley relies solely on his natural talent, which eventually starts to falter.
As the semester unfolds, a fierce rivalry develops between Mike and Sulley. Both attempt to join a fraternity, but only Sulley is accepted into Roar Omega Roar (RΩR), the most elite fraternity on campus. During the final exam, a confrontation between the two leads to the destruction of Dean Abigail Hardscrabble’s prized scream canister. As a result, Hardscrabble fails both of them, citing Mike’s lack of scariness and Sulley’s laziness, leading to Sulley’s expulsion from RΩR.
Determined to prove himself, Mike enters the university’s “Scare Games” and strikes a deal with Hardscrabble: if his team wins, they will be reinstated into the scare program, but if they lose, Mike must leave the university. Mike joins a misfit fraternity called Oozma Kappa (OK), but they are initially denied entry to the Games due to being one member short. Sulley then joins OK, seeing the competition as his only chance to return to the scare program, and Mike reluctantly agrees.
Despite losing the first challenge, OK is saved when another team is disqualified for cheating. Under Mike’s guidance and expertise in scaring, OK steadily improves, overcoming setbacks and ridicule from rival fraternities. They advance through each challenge, ultimately finishing in second place behind RΩR.
