**Storyline:**
“Monster” is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller directed by Vysakh and written by Udaykrishna. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the film features Mohanlal in the dual roles of Lucky Singh and Sivadev Subramaniyam. The cast includes Honey Rose, Lakshmi Manchu, Sudev Nair, Siddique, K. B. Ganesh Kumar, Lena, Johny Antony, and Jagapathi Babu. The music was composed by Deepak Dev. Principal photography began in November 2021 and wrapped up in January 2022 after 55 days of shooting, primarily in Cochin. This film marked the second collaboration between Mohanlal and Vysakh after “Pulimurugan,” but it did not perform well commercially.
The story revolves around Bhamini and Anil Chandra, a married couple living happily with their daughter Kunjatta from Anil’s previous marriage, along with their caretaker Durga. Anil, a former software engineer turned taxi driver after losing his job, suffers a leg injury in an accident. Bhamini steps in to support the family financially by taking over his job.
On the day of their first wedding anniversary, Bhamini is asked by her boss to pick up a passenger named Lucky Singh from the airport. Reluctantly, she agrees. During the ride, Lucky Singh shares his story, revealing he is in the city to sell a flat inherited from his father. Due to delays in meeting the buyers, Lucky Singh accompanies Bhamini to her home and joins their anniversary celebration.
After receiving payment from the buyers, Lucky Singh convinces Bhamini to deliver the money to his lawyer, citing urgent commitments. Once Bhamini leaves, Lucky Singh returns to her house, shoots Anil, and records the incident. He then hides Anil’s body in Bhamini’s car and leaves for the airport.
Bhamini discovers the disappearance of Anil and Kunjatta and grows increasingly worried. Along with Durga and Anil’s friend, she reports the incident to the police. C.I. Mariyam George becomes suspicious of Bhamini, particularly because of her history of evading vehicle checks.
The film explores the unfolding mystery and the consequences of dangerous actions.
