Description: The Minions are coming to Netflix in the United States! Alongside the latest theatrical release, Netflix is teasing two collections of animated titles from Illumination’s popular franchise. Here’s what we know so far.
Netflix is set to receive “Minions: Rise of Gru” as part of their first-window deal with Universal’s animation studio. While no specific release date has been announced, it’s expected to arrive by mid-December 2022.
Additionally, the Netflix app shows that two collections of animated mini-movies are on the way. These collections include previously released shorts, some as brief as a few minutes. “Minions & More 1” features a series of Minions shorts from the “Despicable Me” franchise, such as “Training Wheels,” “Puppy,” and “Yellow Is the New Black.” Meanwhile, “Minions & More 2” includes animated shorts like “Phil’s Dance Party” and “Binky Nelson Unpacified,” also from the creators of “Despicable Me.”
The voice cast for these collections includes Pierre Coffin, Reese Witherspoon, Patton Oswalt, Jon C. Reilly, Allison Janney, Tara Strong, Ed Helms, Danny DeVito, Miranda Cosgrove, and many others.
Currently, the Netflix app lists a January 1, 2023, release date, but this is likely a placeholder. These collections could debut earlier than expected. Stay tuned for updates, and let us know if you’re excited to watch these Minions shorts on Netflix US!
