**Storyline:**
J.B. Bernstein, a successful sports agent, and his partner Ash Vasudevan establish their own company after leaving their previous firm. However, J.B. struggles to secure new clients after his existing ones retire. His attempts to sign a prominent football player, Popo Vanuatu, also fail. Determined to find fresh talent, J.B. devises a plan to tap into India’s vast population, where baseball is virtually unknown. He pitches an idea to investor Mr. Chang: a talent competition called “Million Dollar Arm.” The contest aims to identify skilled pitchers who can throw a baseball with speed and accuracy. The winners will receive prize money, training in the U.S., and a chance to become professional baseball players within two years. Chang agrees to fund the project but insists the winners must be ready for a major-league tryout in just one year. J.B., with no other options, accepts the challenge.
J.B. enlists the help of veteran pitching coach Tom House, who warns that the transition from cricket—India’s dominant sport—to baseball is highly unlikely within such a short timeframe. Despite the odds, J.B. convinces House to take on the challenge, emphasizing the potential rewards.
While Ash and their assistant Theresa manage the office in Los Angeles, J.B. travels to India, accompanied by scout Ray Poitevint and interpreter Amit Rohan. Overwhelmed by India’s chaotic environment, J.B. struggles to navigate the cultural differences. After a series of tryouts across the country, two young men, Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel, emerge as the winners. They are brought to the U.S. to begin their intense training, with the goal of preparing them for a major-league tryout within a year.
The film follows J.B.’s journey as he mentors Rinku and Dinesh, facing numerous obstacles and self-discoveries along the way.
