**Storyline:**
Ko Sun-young is a well-known television announcer and midnight DJ, hosting a show that blends film analysis with selected songs from movie soundtracks. When her young daughter, Eun-soo, needs heart surgery that can only be performed in the United States, Sun-young makes the difficult decision to leave her job. On her final day, her sister, Ah-young, babysits Eun-soo at Sun-young’s apartment. During her broadcast, Sun-young receives a call from Han Dong-soo, who introduces himself as a devoted fan. Inspired by Travis Bickle from *Taxi Driver*, Dong-soo has begun targeting and killing pimps and drug dealers across the city. Upon learning of Sun-young’s impending retirement, he takes her family hostage, demanding that she alter her last show to fit his agenda.
However, Sun-young’s boss rejects the changes, assuming she submitted the altered playlist herself. When Sun-young defies Dong-soo’s orders and calls the police, he kills the officers and brutally cuts off one of Ah-young’s toes. With the help of Son Deok-tae, an awkward but obsessed fan, Sun-young tries to recreate her earlier broadcasts. But when her boss interferes, Dong-soo murders Ah-young. Devastated, Sun-young reveals the situation to her confused colleagues.
Dong-soo forces Sun-young to quote her previous commentary on *Taxi Driver*, where she expressed a desire for a hero like Bickle to emerge. He demands she call him a hero, and she complies reluctantly. Meanwhile, Sun-young attempts to escape the studio to save her daughter, but Dong-soo has already fled. She pursues him, leading to a confrontation where Dong-soo presents a man he claims is a human trafficker. The man denies the accusation and pleads for his life. Dong-soo orders Sun-young to kill him, but she refuses, insisting the man deserves a trial. Instead, she shoots Dong-soo, bringing the horrifying ordeal to an end.
