Sharma. Originally filmed in Telugu, it was partially reshot in Tamil. The movie was released on February 3, 2023, in Telugu and Tamil, with dubbed versions available in Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The story is set in the 1980s and follows Michael, a gangster mentored by Bombay-based crime boss Gurunath, who is raised by Gurunath’s right-hand man, Swamy. Constantly sidelined by Gurunath’s son, Amarnath, and wife, Charulatha, Michael’s life takes a turn when Gurunath is attacked by a rival gang led by Rathan. Gurunath sends Michael to Delhi to eliminate Rathan and his daughter, Theera. However, Michael falls in love with Theera and decides to spare her father.
Later, Michael, Theera, and Rathan are captured by Amarnath, who reveals he orchestrated the attack on his father to seize power. Amarnath claims that Theera initially pretended to love Michael but has now genuinely fallen for him. After killing Rathan and severely injuring Michael, Amarnath’s men throw Michael into the sea. Michael survives, returns to Amarnath’s hideout, and exacts revenge, killing Amarnath and most of his men. He then escapes with Theera.
Michael confesses to Gurunath about killing Amarnath, prompting Gurunath to vow revenge. Gurunath and Charulatha retrieve Amarnath’s body, and Gurunath places a bounty on Michael and Theera. The couple is sheltered by Kannamma and her retired police officer husband, who deceive Gurunath’s men and ultimately eliminate them, ensuring Michael and Theera’s safety.
