Description: Memoir of a Murderer (2017) is a gripping Korean film directed in a unique director’s cut, available in resolutions like 1080p, 720p, and 480p. The story follows Byeong-soo (played by Sol Kyung-gu), who, after killing his abusive father as a teenager, becomes convinced that some people deserve to die. He embarks on a killing spree, burying his victims in a bamboo grove he purchased. However, after a car accident that leaves him with Alzheimer’s disease, he stops killing and resumes his life as a veterinarian, caring for his daughter Eun-hee (Kim Seol-hyun).
As Byeong-soo’s memory deteriorates, he struggles to maintain his routines with the help of a recorder and a memoir he types on his laptop. He attends a poetry class, where his darkly poetic descriptions of murders are mistaken for metaphors, impressing his classmates and teacher. Despite his condition, he forms an unlikely friendship with local policeman Byeong-man (Oh Dal-su).
The town is rattled by the murders of two young women, and Byeong-soo begins to question whether he is the killer. While checking the bamboo grove for new burials, he witnesses a suspicious car accident. He secretly collects blood from the trunk, later discovering it is human. He anonymously reports the incident to the police, but his tip is dismissed as the driver is a fellow officer, Min Tae-joo (Kim Nam-gil).
Realizing Tae-joo is a serial killer, Byeong-soo uncovers his plans and tips off the police, drawing Tae-joo’s attention. Tragically, Tae-joo begins dating Eun-hee, unaware of his dark past. Byeong-soo’s struggle with his fading memory and moral conflict forms the core of this intense and thought-provoking film.
