Description: “The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2” is a 2021 American comedy horror film directed by Deon Taylor and co-written by Taylor and Corey Harrell. It serves as a sequel to the 2016 film “Meet the Blacks.” The movie stars Mike Epps and Katt Williams, with a supporting cast including Bresha Webb, Lil Duval, Zulay Henao, Tyrin Turner, Michael Blackson, Andrew Bachelor, Gary Owen, and Danny Trejo.
The story follows Carl Black (played by Epps) as he relocates his family to his childhood home in Atlanta, hoping to continue writing his new book. However, their plans are disrupted by their mysterious and eccentric neighbor (Williams), who Carl believes might be a vampire plotting to harm his family.
Produced by Taylor’s Hidden Empire Film Group and Epps’ Naptown Productions, the film was shot in Atlanta between October and November 2017. Originally slated for release in October 2019, it was eventually released in theaters on June 11, 2021.
The screenplay was based on a story by Corey Harrell, and the film’s score was composed by Geoff Zanelli. Cinematographer Dave Perkal used Hawk V-Plus anamorphic lenses to capture the visuals.
“The House Next Door” reunites Epps and Williams, who previously starred together in the 2002 comedy “Friday After Next.” The sequel also features returning cast members from the first film, including Bresha Webb, Zulay Henao, Lil Duval, Andrew Bachelor, Michael Blackson, and Tyrin Turner. Additional newcomers to the cast include Rick Ross and Danny Trejo.
The film blends humor and horror, delivering a quirky and entertaining experience for fans of the genre.
