Flash forward 15 years, and Sonny has become a dedicated househusband, managing household duties and serving as PTA president while his wife, Maya (Hall), works as the family’s primary breadwinner. When Huck’s 44th birthday rolls around, Sonny is hesitant to join the celebration, as he’s fully immersed in his family life. However, Maya insists he needs a break and encourages him to reconnect with his old friend.
Reluctantly, Sonny agrees and reunites with Huck, only to discover that his friend’s glamorous lifestyle is a facade. Huck is in financial trouble and has dangerous individuals on his tail. As Sonny gets pulled into Huck’s chaotic world, he begins to question his own identity outside of his family. What follows is a journey of self-discovery that, despite its potential for humor, feels repetitive and uninspired.
*Me Time* aims to be a coming-of-age story for middle-aged men but ultimately fails to offer anything fresh or memorable. Fans of Hart and Wahlberg may find fleeting moments of entertainment, but the film’s lack of originality and forced humor make it a forgettable experience.
