Description: In *Maze Runner: The Death Cure* (2018), Thomas, Newt, and Frypan are among the last surviving “Gladers” immune to the deadly Flare virus, which has devastated humanity. Alongside the Right Arm resistance, they carry out a mission to rescue other immune individuals from a train operated by WCKD, the organization responsible for capturing and experimenting on immune children. They discover their friend Minho, who was taken by WCKD, is on a different train headed to the “Last City,” WCKD’s stronghold. Defying orders from Vince, the Right Arm’s leader, the trio sets out to save Minho, who is being tortured in hopes of developing a cure for the virus.
On their journey to the Last City, the group faces attacks from Cranks—humans infected with the Flare—but are rescued by Jorge and Brenda, who join them. Reaching the city’s protective wall, they witness protests as people demand entry. When WCKD fires at the protesters, the group is captured by masked individuals and taken to a hideout. There, they reunite with Gally, who survived an earlier encounter with Minho. Gally introduces them to Lawrence, a leader of the rebellion outside the city walls, who helps them infiltrate the Last City through a secret entrance.
Inside the city, Gally guides Thomas and Newt, who reveals he’s infected. Determined to save him, Thomas and Gally capture Teresa, a former ally. Disguised as WCKD soldiers, they infiltrate WCKD’s headquarters to locate the immune children and rescue Minho. While Gally searches for a serum to slow the Flare, Thomas, Teresa, and Newt attempt to find Minho but are pursued by Janson. Teresa helps them escape while using Thomas’s blood, obtained earlier, to conduct a critical test. The group races against time to save their friends and uncover a cure before it’s too late.
