In Chennai, John “JD” Durairaj is a charismatic yet alcoholic professor known for his student advocacy, which often causes friction with the college administration. When his relationships with colleagues worsen, he is unknowingly assigned as the new teacher at the juvenile center controlled by Bhavani. Despite initial reluctance, JD accepts the role but approaches it casually. On his second day, he discovers two children from the center hanged in the hall, murdered by Bhavani for refusing to falsely confess to a crime. JD is taken to the police station for questioning, where he learns about the corruption at the center from Charu, a junior professor and NGO volunteer. Charu reveals she forged JD’s signature to enroll him as the teacher, believing he could understand the students and bring positive change. Heartbroken upon finding a letter from the deceased children pleading for help, JD vows to avenge their deaths after Bhavani’s men try to expel him from town. He confronts them, sending a clear warning to Bhavani.
