Description: The 2015 film “Masss” follows the story of Masilamani, also known as Masss, a small-time con artist who partners with his friend Jettu. After a failed heist, Masss and Jettu are involved in a car accident, resulting in Jettu’s death. Masss survives but gains the ability to see and communicate with ghosts. As Jettu becomes a ghost himself, Masss forms a group of restless spirits to perform fake exorcisms and extort money from wealthy individuals, promising the ghosts he will fulfill their final wishes in return.
Masss falls in love with Manini, a nurse who believes he works at a finance company. When she discovers his deceitful activities, she distances herself from him. Meanwhile, Masss encounters a ghost named Shakthivel, who resembles him and initially appears helpful. However, Shakthi manipulates Masss into becoming involved in a murder, leading to an investigation by corrupt ACP Vikram Lakshman.
As the ghosts grow suspicious of Masss’ intentions, they turn against him. With Jettu’s persuasion, Masss decides to fulfill their wishes, helping them find peace and redemption. These acts of kindness change Manini’s perception of him. However, Shakthi continues to exploit Masss, using him to eliminate another individual connected to the murder. The film explores themes of redemption, love, and the supernatural, culminating in Masss’ transformation into a better person.
