Description: Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter is a 15-minute short film released in 2013. The story takes place one year after the events of *Captain America: The First Avenger*. Agent Peggy Carter, now a member of the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR), faces sexism from her boss, Agent John Flynn. Flynn underestimates her abilities, assigning her to data compilation and code-breaking tasks while reserving field missions for her male colleagues. The SSR’s primary focus is recovering a mysterious substance known as the Zodiac, which has eluded them for some time.
One evening, while the male agents are out together, Carter answers a call at the office and learns the location of the Zodiac. Despite the recommendation to send multiple agents, Carter decides to handle the mission alone. She successfully retrieves the substance after fighting off several guards. The next day, Flynn reprimands her for not following proper procedures and dismisses her as merely an “old flame” of Captain America, suggesting she was given her position out of pity. Just as Flynn prepares to punish her, Howard Stark calls, informing him that Carter will co-head the newly formed S.H.I.E.L.D.
In a mid-credits scene, Dum Dum Dugan and Howard Stark are seen by a pool, admiring women wearing the newly invented bikini. The story highlights Carter’s resilience and competence in the face of adversity.
