Genre: Action;Crime;Thriller
Description: In New York City, a man named Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington) checks into the Roosevelt Hotel and steps onto the ledge of his 21st-floor room, seemingly preparing to jump. A crowd gathers below, and the police are called. Officer Jack Dougherty (Edward Burns) attempts to communicate with him, but Nick insists on speaking only with Lydia Mercer (Elizabeth Banks), a negotiator who is on leave after failing to save a suicidal officer on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Lydia arrives and manages to get Nick’s fingerprints from a cigarette they share, despite his efforts to hide his identity. The police discover that “Walker” is actually Nick Cassidy, a former cop who was imprisoned for stealing a $40 million diamond from businessman David Englander (Ed Harris). Nick escaped from prison a month earlier and claims he was framed by Englander in an insurance fraud scheme, as the businessman had lost his fortune and refused to sell the diamond.
Unbeknownst to the police, Nick’s public act is a diversion. His brother Joey (Jamie Bell) and Joey’s girlfriend Angie (Genesis Rodriguez) are breaking into Englander’s vault across the street to steal the diamond and prove Nick’s innocence. Nick secretly guides them through an earpiece while maintaining his façade to avoid suspicion.
