Description: Set on the fictional Greek island of Kalokairi, *Mamma Mia!* follows 20-year-old Sophie Sheridan as she prepares for her wedding. Unbeknownst to her mother, Donna, Sophie has secretly invited three men from Donna’s past to the ceremony. These men—Sam Carmichael, Bill Anderson, and Harry Bright—are potential candidates for being Sophie’s father, based on entries in Donna’s diary from around the time of Sophie’s conception. Sophie hopes that meeting them will help her identify her real father and give her the traditional wedding moment she desires.
Donna, who owns a struggling villa-turned-hotel, is thrilled to reunite with her former Dynamos bandmates, Rosie and Tanya. However, she’s baffled by Sophie’s decision to marry so young. When the three men arrive on the island, Sophie hides them in the old goat house, planning to surprise Donna. Donna is stunned to see her former lovers and initially demands they leave. Confiding in Rosie and Tanya, she admits she has no idea which one could be Sophie’s father.
As the story unfolds, Sophie spends time with the men aboard Bill’s sailboat, learning about Donna’s adventurous past. Meanwhile, Donna, Rosie, and Tanya reminisce and dance, reviving their spirits. The film is a heartwarming tale of love, family, and self-discovery, set to the iconic music of ABBA.
