**Storyline:**
College student T.S. Quint plans to propose to his girlfriend, Brandi Svenning, during a trip to Universal Studios Florida in Orlando. However, Brandi cancels the trip to participate in her father’s dating game show, *Truth or Date*, after the original contestant tragically dies from an embolism while swimming at the local Y.M.C.A. T.S. and Brandi argue over this and ultimately break up.
Heartbroken, T.S. turns to his best friend, Brodie Bruce, who has also been dumped by his girlfriend, Rene. Brodie suggests they seek solace at the local mall. In the extended version, T.S., dressed for a play recital, accidentally fires a prop musket during a conversation with Brandi. This leads to a misunderstanding where T.S. is mistaken for a sniper targeting the governor, whom Brandi’s father, Jared, works for. After being surrounded by reporters, T.S. hides in Brodie’s mother’s basement, where Brodie proposes they blend in by going to the mall.
At the mall, Brodie and T.S. discover that *Truth or Date* is being filmed there. Through their friend Willam, who spends the film trying to see a sailboat in a Magic Eye poster (which, ironically, contains no sailboat but random geometric shapes), they learn about the show. The duo enlists local slackers Jay and Silent Bob to sabotage the show’s stage, but their elaborate plans fail to succeed.
