**Storyline:**
Police officer Jim Kurring responds to a disturbance at a woman’s apartment, where he discovers a body hidden in a closet. A neighborhood boy, Dixon, attempts to inform him about the murderer. Jim then visits the apartment of Claudia Wilson, whose neighbors called the police after she argued with her estranged father, Jimmy Gator, a children’s game show host, and later played loud music while using cocaine. Unaware of her addiction, Jim asks her out on a date.
Jimmy, the host of the quiz show “What Do Kids Know?,” is battling cancer. The show’s latest child prodigy, Stanley, faces pressure from his father for the prize money and mistreatment from adults who prevent him from using the bathroom during a commercial break. This leads to a humiliating incident when he wets himself upon resuming the show. As Jimmy’s health worsens, he insists the show continues even after he collapses. Stanley, berated by his father for freezing, eventually runs away.
