Description: The 2020 movie *Mafia* begins with a mysterious incident at a hotel where a gunshot is heard, prompting the arrival of the police. The story then shifts to the protagonist, Aryan, a dedicated Narcotics Control Bureau Officer. Aryan’s personal tragedy, the loss of his twin brother Dillip to drugs, fuels his determination to dismantle drug networks, particularly a notorious group known as the ‘Snake’s Den.’ Working alongside his colleagues, Sathya and Varun, Aryan is supported by his supervisor, Selvam, and Mugilan, a social activist and his neighbor.
One day, after apprehending two drug dealers, Aryan is devastated to learn that Selvam has been killed by a gunshot to the head. Selvam had previously identified the responsible individual but kept it secret to avoid alerting the culprit. Determined to uncover the truth, Aryan and Sathya investigate Selvam’s death and deduce that a powerful drug lord is behind the murder. Meanwhile, Mugilan becomes a target of the same drug lord and his bodyguard, leading to his tragic death. Before dying, Mugilan hides crucial information about the drug lord in a USB drive attached to his dog Pogo’s collar and sends Aryan a warning.
Using the tracking chip in Pogo’s collar, Aryan locates the USB and discovers evidence implicating Diwakar Kumaran (DK), a prominent technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. Mugilan had suspected DK’s initial wealth was linked to international drug cartels. DK and his brother/bodyguard, Rudra, have strong political connections that protect their illicit activities. After locating a suspected hideout linked to DK, Mugilan and Selvam were captured during their investigation.
In a daring move, Aryan initiates a shootout at the hideout and uncovers DK’s involvement in the drug trade. However, DK retaliates by kidnapping Aryan’s family and luring him to a warehouse for a final confrontation. The movie builds tension as Aryan races against time to save his loved ones and bring DK to justice.
