Description: In post-apocalyptic Australia, Max Rockatansky traverses the desert in a camel-drawn wagon crafted from his Interceptor. He is ambushed by a bandit named Jedediah and his son, who pilot a Transavia PL-12 Airtruk, stealing his vehicle and possessions. Max continues his journey on foot, tracking them to a survivor settlement called Bartertown. This community has managed to rebuild fragments of civilization, including electricity. Initially denied entry for lacking tradeable goods, Max offers his skills as payment. After surrendering his weapons, he meets Aunty Entity, Bartertown’s ruthless leader. She proposes a deal: she will resupply his vehicle if he completes a task for her.
Aunty reveals that Bartertown’s power supply relies on a methane refinery fueled by pig waste, operated by a dwarf named Master and his towering bodyguard, Blaster. The duo, known as “Master-Blaster,” shares a fragile truce with Aunty, but Master has begun to challenge her authority. Aunty instructs Max to provoke Blaster into a conflict. In Bartertown, disputes are settled in a gladiatorial arena called Thunderdome, where fights end in death. Max ventures into the Underworld refinery to assess Master-Blaster. There, he befriends Pig Killer, a convict sentenced to labor for slaughtering a pig to feed his family. Max discovers his stolen vehicle in Master-Blaster’s possession and disarms its booby-trapped engine. He learns that Blaster, despite his immense strength, is vulnerable to high-pitched noises, which incapacitate him.
Accusing Master of theft, Max provokes him into demanding a Thunderdome duel. Blaster initially dominates the fight, but Max uses a bosun’s whistle to disorient him, knocking off his helmet. However, upon realizing Blaster is mentally handicapped, Max spares his life.
