Description: In Nazi-occupied France, archeologist Professor Bresson entrusts a heavily trapped diary and an amulet containing its key to his family. The diary is said to lead to a vast treasure known as the Eclipse, sought by a group of Nazis associated with Ahnenerbe. Bresson is killed by the Germans, and while his family escapes, they are pursued by Ahnenerbe professor Lambert. A car crash ensues, leaving only the infant daughter alive. Lambert steals the amulet but fails to recover the diary, which is lost during the chase.
Decades later, in the 1960s, the diary reappears at a memorial exhibition honoring Bresson. Lupin III attempts to steal it, following in his grandfather’s footsteps, but is thwarted by a young woman posing as a security guard, Fujiko, and Inspector Zenigata. After escaping from prison with the help of his friends Jigen and Goemon, Lupin tracks down the young woman, Laetitia, an aspiring archeology student. He presents her with a medal identical to the one Lambert stole, inherited from his grandfather. Laetitia informs Lambert, her adoptive grandfather, who instructs her to bring Lupin and the amulet to him in exchange for her enrollment at Boston University.
Fujiko delivers the diary to a group of Ahnenerbe fugitives, including Lambert and their leader, Gerard. However, Gerard discovers her betrayal and detains her. Laetitia leads Lupin to Lambert’s hideout, a customized transport plane, where they recover the book and the counterpart to Lupin’s amulet. After deciphering the diary, they learn the Eclipse is a power generator created by an advanced lost civilization, hidden in the ruins of Teotihuacan. Aware Laetitia has set a trap, Lupin surrenders to Gerard and Lambert. Fujiko uses the distraction to escape.
Lupin sneaks back onto the plane, overhearing Gerard and Lambert’s plan to use the Eclipse to resurrect Adolf Hitler, who allegedly faked his death and fled to South America during the fall of Berlin. Their ultimate goal is the revival of the Third Reich.
