Description: “Ludo 2020” is a Hindi film that explores the butterfly effect and the interconnectedness of lives amidst chaos and complexity. The narrative weaves together four distinct stories influenced by fate, a resurfaced sex tape, and a suitcase filled with money, all orchestrated by an eccentric criminal. The film delves into themes of chance and destiny, creating a web of overlapping events.
The plot thickens when two couples seek a private place for a late-night encounter, taking refuge in a mall after hours. Their plan takes a dark turn as they become entangled in a deadly game. Meanwhile, four teenagers, Babai, Pele, Ria, and Payal, find themselves locked in the same mall. Their night of expected fun spirals into a series of misfortunes when they encounter an elderly couple carrying a mysterious leather piece and bone dice. The couple introduces them to “Ludo,” a cursed game with a bloody history spanning centuries. The game, once defiled by a young couple, carries an unbreakable curse. In this cursed setting, the players become both monsters and prisoners of fate, bound to endure the game’s violent legacy.
Earlier in the film, two individuals in a black coat and a white dress discuss the arrival of various characters at a shared location, initiating the Ludo game. The story then shifts to Sattu Bhai, a notorious figure who gathers his associates in a van to settle deals in his locality. The film flashes back to Sattu’s past, revealing he murdered a man named Bhinder while he was bathing. En route to his next target, Sattu listens to an old song. He then confronts Bhanu, Asha’s husband, for failing to repay a loan. Sattu brings them to his central meeting point, where the two individuals continue their conversation. A yellow car arrives, introducing Akash Cauchan as the yellow player. Akash’s backstory reveals he is a ventriloquist and dubbing artist.
“Ludo 2020” is a tale of intertwined destinies, cursed games, and the chaos that binds lives together.
