Description: “Love Story” is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film written and directed by Sekhar Kammula. Produced by Amigos Creations and Sree Venkateswara Cinemas, the film stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. The music for the movie was composed by Pawan Ch, while Vijay C. Kumar handled the cinematography and Marthand K. Venkatesh took charge of editing. The production and release of “Love Story” faced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After several postponements, the film was finally released on September 24, 2021.
The movie received mixed to positive reviews from both critics and audiences. Naga Chaitanya’s performance was hailed as one of his best, and Sai Pallavi’s acting was also praised. The cinematography and music were well-received, though some critics noted the film’s length and slow pacing as drawbacks.
The project began in 2018 when Narayan Das K. Narang and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao of Asian Cinemas announced their first production venture through their subsidiary, Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas. Initially, Sekhar Kammula was set to direct a musical romantic comedy featuring newcomers, but the project was shelved after minimal filming.
Later, Kammula approached Naga Chaitanya, who agreed to join after reviewing the script. Sai Pallavi was selected for the female lead, marking her second collaboration with Kammula after their work on “Fidaa” (2017). A formal launch event, including a pooja ceremony, took place on June 27, 2019, at the Venkateshwara Temple in Tirupati. The working title, “Love Story,” was officially confirmed in January 2020.
