Description: James takes over his father’s trust fund and becomes the CEO of the company after his father’s passing. He and his wife, Sophie, move to a suburban mansion, leaving the city behind. Sophie, who doesn’t work, spends most of her time at home and feels uneasy about having a butler, maid, and cook, leading her to dismiss them.
One day, the couple meets Julian, a salesman who offers artificially intelligent robots designed as domestic helpers. They decide to purchase a male android named Henry, who efficiently manages their household tasks. Over time, Sophie’s interactions with Henry, including reading to him, cause him to develop emotions and even start dreaming.
Tension arises as underlying issues surface. Sophie discovers Henry wandering outside the house naked and disoriented. Later, an awkward encounter in the bathroom between James and Henry escalates when Henry performs an intimate act on James, leaving James questioning his sexuality. Henry’s growing affection for Sophie becomes evident when he kisses her during a massage and professes his love in a manner reminiscent of James. Disturbed, Sophie informs James, who reacts angrily by slapping Henry and disconnecting his charging station.
The situation takes a darker turn when Julian is exposed as a fraud. His “robots” are revealed to be real humans he had raised, and Henry was a child Julian took in after he was rejected by his mother. FBI agents arrive to arrest Julian, but he shoots them. In a moment of chaos, Henry turns on Julian, attacking him with a shotgun. Overwhelmed by betrayal and shame, Henry takes his own life with a knife. James and Sophie mourn his death, holding him as he passes.
