Description: “Le Chakka 2010” is a Bengali film that revolves around the story of a poorly-performing cricket team named 11 Bullets from North Kolkata. The team consists of locals with diverse professions. The plot begins with a match against a South Kolkata team, where the protagonist, Abir, single-handedly defeats 11 Bullets. Humiliated, the team faces ridicule from their community.
Later, Abir moves with his family to Dorjipara, the neighborhood of 11 Bullets. However, cultural differences between North and South Kolkata make him uncomfortable. Abir frequently clashes with the niece of his landlord. He soon learns that a corrupt political leader is attempting to seize Dorjipara, including the rental house where Abir resides. The landlord refuses to sell, leading to further tension.
Abir motivates the 11 Bullets team to stand against the political injustices, gradually building a bond with them. During this time, he grows close to Rani, which her brother Rajat disapproves of. Shankar, an associate of the political leader, becomes involved with Rani’s unmarried and frustrated elder sister, Ratna. However, when Shankar expresses his desire to marry Rani instead of Ratna, Ratna tragically takes her own life.
As the political leader’s party attempts to take control of Dorjipara, Abir proposes a decisive cricket match to determine the fate of the property. In a thrilling game, 11 Bullets secures a remarkable victory. Meanwhile, Abir also wins Rani’s heart.
The film highlights themes of unity, resistance, and love, set against the backdrop of cricket and political conflict.
