**Storyline:**
On the island of Santorini, Greece, a powerful earthquake reveals the Luna Temple, built by Alexander the Great to safeguard his most valuable treasures. Among them is a glowing orb etched with a mysterious code. Renowned archaeologist and treasure hunter Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) and her team discover the orb but are ambushed by the Lo brothers, Chen (Simon Yam) and Xien (Terence Yin), leaders of the Chinese crime syndicate Shay Ling. They kill Lara’s team and steal the orb, but Lara escapes with a strange medallion.
MI6 approaches Lara with information about Pandora’s Box, an ancient artifact said to contain a deadly plague. The box is hidden in the Cradle of Life, and the orb stolen by Chen Lo acts as a map to locate it. Chen plans to sell the orb to Jonathan Reiss (Ciarán Hinds), a Nobel Prize-winning scientist turned bio-weapon dealer.
Lara agrees to assist MI6 on the condition that they release her former lover, Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler), who has knowledge of Chen Lo’s criminal operations. Together, Lara and Terry infiltrate Chen’s lair, where he is smuggling Terracotta Soldiers. Lara defeats Chen and discovers the orb has been moved to Shanghai. There, she learns that Xien is attempting to hand the orb to Reiss. However, Reiss betrays and kills Xien after receiving the orb. Unbeknownst to him, Lara manages to place a tracker on the orb during the exchange.
