**Storyline:**
On Christmas Eve in 1909, in a charming Midwestern town inspired by Disney’s hometown Marceline, Missouri, Jim Dear gifts his wife Darling a cocker spaniel puppy they name Lady. Lady lives a happy life with the couple and befriends two neighborhood dogs: a Scottish terrier named Jock and a bloodhound named Trusty.
Meanwhile, a stray mutt named Tramp roams the town, surviving on scraps from Tony’s Italian restaurant while protecting fellow strays Peg, a Pekingese, and Bull, a bulldog, from the local dog catcher. Lady becomes distressed when her owners start treating her coldly. Jock and Trusty visit her and realize their behavior changes because Darling is expecting a baby. While they try to explain what a baby is, Tramp interrupts, sharing his own opinion, which immediately makes Jock and Trusty dislike him and drive him away. As he leaves, Tramp warns Lady, “When a baby moves in, a dog moves out.”
When the baby arrives, the couple introduces Lady to the infant, and she becomes deeply protective of the child. After Jim Dear and Darling leave for a vacation, they leave their dog-hating Aunt Sarah in charge of the baby and the house. Aunt Sarah’s mischievous Siamese cats, Si and Am, deliberately cause chaos, knowing Lady will be blamed. They further trick Aunt Sarah into believing Lady attacked them, leading Aunt Sarah to muzzle Lady and take her to a pet shop.
