Description: Krishna, a renowned architect, lives a joyful life centered around his daughter Anju. He is delighted when Anju falls in love with Harish. However, the story takes a dramatic turn when Anju decides to find a suitable wife for her seemingly lonely father. She invites her professor, Shanthi, to their home, but Krishna is stunned upon seeing her.
It is later revealed that Shanthi is Krishna’s estranged wife, and Anju is not his biological daughter. Years ago, Krishna found Anju abandoned on the street and brought her home, which caused his separation from Shanthi and her family. When Anju uncovers the truth, she brings Shanthi back home and calls her mother, much to Krishna’s distress. Feeling betrayed, Krishna becomes overwhelmed with stress and confusion.
Harish, concerned for Krishna, suggests he seek psychiatric help, but the situation spirals out of control. Anju, angered, insists they leave her father alone and throws them out. Realizing her mistake, she writes a letter apologizing and leaves the house. Desperate to find her, Krishna searches everywhere but fails. Eventually, Anju returns home, promising never to leave him again. Overcome with guilt for how he treated Shanthi, Krishna invites her back, and the film concludes with the family reuniting.
Released in 1997, this critically acclaimed film won several accolades at the Karnataka State Film Awards, including Second Best Film and Best Actor for Vishnuvardhan. The music by V. Manohar was also well-received, cementing the movie as one of Dinesh Babu’s finest works.
