Description: Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) assigns Po (Jack Black) the task of hosting the annual Winter Feast at the Jade Palace, a prestigious and highly formal event attended by all the Kung Fu masters of China. He insists that the event must be flawless. Although Po is excited about this responsibility, he also wishes to spend the holiday with his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong). To make this happen, Po rejects the services of the finest chefs in China and instead tries to have his father cater the event. However, Mr. Ping believes Po is more focused on his duties as the Dragon Warrior and chooses to stay at his restaurant to feed the townsfolk who have nowhere else to go for the holiday.
Feeling guilty, Po attempts to cook the banquet himself but quickly becomes overwhelmed by the numerous responsibilities. The situation is further complicated by Wo Hop (Jack McBrayer), a rabbit chef whom Po had accidentally disgraced earlier. Wo Hop is desperate to die at the hands of the Dragon Warrior to restore his honor. A comment from Wo Hop that “kung fu can’t solve everything” inspires Po to enlist the help of the Furious Five to prepare for the feast while he and the still-suicidal Wo Hop work together in the kitchen.
On the night of the Winter Feast, Po realizes he should be with his father for the holiday. He excuses himself from the masters to help Mr. Ping prepare food for the townsfolk. Meanwhile, Mr. Ping, who had been struggling to manage the restaurant alone, acknowledges that he was unfair to his son for focusing on his larger responsibilities and apologizes to him. Upon reconciling, father and son work together to prepare their feast with renewed skill and understanding.
Touched by Po’s dedication to his family, the Furious Five and the other Kung Fu masters join in the celebrations with the townsfolk. Po also manages to restore Wo Hop’s honor by presenting him with the Golden Ladle, originally intended for the chef selected to cook for the masters’ banquet. While Shifu is initially horrified that everyone abandoned the formal feast, he soon realizes that Po made the right decision when he sees the joy and merriment at the noodle shop. Shifu concludes that Po created a truly perfect event with his father. When Shifu tries to leave, Po convinces him to stay, emphasizing Shifu’s place as part of their family.
