This project marks the directorial debut of Samiur Rahman, as well as the OTT debut of renowned small-screen director Shafayet Mansoor Rana, who steps into an acting role.
Director Samiur Rahman shared insights with The Daily Star, explaining that Nondini and Anwesha are polar opposites in nature. Nondini is obedient and marries Erfan (played by Shafayet Mansoor Rana) to fulfill her family’s wishes, enduring an abusive marriage. In contrast, Anwesha embodies independence and confidence but faces challenges after trusting her boyfriend, Arif (played by Yash Rohan).
The film explores life’s critical phases, highlighting the dualities people face and the consequences of their choices, whether self-inflicted or influenced by others. The mystery lies in how these two women confront their struggles and whether they can overcome them.
Alongside its lead cast, “Kuhelika” features Sharif Siraj, Abu Hurayra Tanvir, and Rakib Hossain Evon in supporting roles. The film is set to premiere on Binge next week, promising an engaging and thought-provoking experience.
