**Storyline:**
“Krishnakanter Will” is a 2007 Indian Bengali romantic thriller directed by Srijit Mukherji. It was produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. The film is a remake of the 1955 movie “Chokher Bali,” which is based on Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s novel.
The story revolves around Gobindalal, a wealthy young man portrayed by Jeet, who is married to the innocent Bhromor, played by Swastika Mukherjee. After the death of his uncle Krishnakanta, Gobindalal discovers he has been cut out of his uncle’s will, with the entire estate going to a beautiful but enigmatic widow, Rohini, played by Anil Kapoor.
Initially filled with resentment and anger, Gobindalal becomes captivated by Rohini’s intelligence and allure, leading to a passionate affair that jeopardizes his marriage and reputation. Meanwhile, his cousin Haralal is also eager to seize control of the estate, forging a new will that bequeaths everything to him, with Rohini’s complicity.
However, when Rohini has second thoughts, she decides to assist Gobindalal by revealing the truth about the forged will. Together, they work to expose Haralal’s deceit. Ultimately, Gobindalal reconciles with Bhromor, and Rohini finds happiness with another partner. The film explores complex themes of love, betrayal, and redemption.
