Description: Jeet, a student, moves to Kolkata with his family, including his parents and older sister Devashree, where they face daily struggles to survive. The city is dominated by Vishnu, a feared local don, whose younger brother Deva attends the same college as Jeet. Deva and his gang create havoc by harassing female students, leading to repeated clashes with Jeet.
When Jeet stands up to Deva’s gang, Vishnu’s men retaliate by targeting Jeet’s family and friends. In a horrific incident, they assault Jeet’s sister Devashree in public. Despite police involvement, justice remains out of reach due to Vishnu’s political influence. The situation worsens when Jeet’s friend Iqbal is killed for opposing Vishnu in elections.
Driven by anger and grief, Jeet kills Deva to avenge Iqbal’s death. Vishnu, enraged by his brother’s death, murders Jeet’s father, leaving Jeet with nothing but a burning desire for revenge. Determined to bring an end to Vishnu’s tyranny, Jeet ultimately succeeds in killing him, fulfilling his quest for justice.
The film “Kranti,” meaning revolution, follows a familiar revenge narrative set against the backdrop of college politics. While it employs modern filming techniques, it remains a conventional tale of retribution in Bengali cinema.
