Description: “Korapaak 2020: A Bengali Film Review
The story follows Dev (Sourav) and Piyali (Payel), who unexpectedly meet and fall in love. However, Sourav’s uncertainty about his emotions leads Piyali to test the depth of their feelings through an experiment. Unfortunately, the film fails to leave a lasting impression. Its predictable and clichéd script feels outdated, resembling something from the 1980s or 1990s rather than a modern production.
The performances are largely over-the-top, with exaggerated expressions, forced body language, and theatrical dialogue delivery. While Payel, Sourav, and Amit Saha are somewhat watchable, Anindya’s role in the film serves as a cautionary tale about choosing roles wisely. The film’s saving grace lies in its music, with a couple of songs making about 8-10 minutes of the runtime bearable.
Overall, Korapaak is a movie that seems to have arrived decades too late, offering little innovation or freshness to its audience.”
