**Storyline:**
A young politician faces a challenging situation when he must compete against his ambitious girlfriend in a political race. Complicating matters further, his identical twin brother gets drawn into this fierce political battle.
Kodiarasu (Dhanush), born into politics in Pollachi, was raised by his father, Murugan (Karunas), a dedicated worker of the Democratic party. Murugan’s tragic act of self-immolation, protesting a factory’s toxic mercury waste that devastated their community, deeply influenced Kodiarasu’s life. His twin brother, Anbarasu (Dhanush), however, is entirely unlike him – a professor with no interest in politics.
Kodiarasu grows within the party alongside his friend Bhagat (Kaali Venkat) and falls in love with Rudra (Trisha), who is equally involved in politics but represents the opposing Republican party.
One day, during a clash with opposition members, Kodiarasu accidentally destroys a cart of eggs belonging to Malathi (Anupama Parameswaran), who is trying to sell them. Later, Malathi mistakes Anbarasu for his twin brother and eventually falls in love with him. She shares her village’s struggles with the toxic waste dumped by nearby factories, prompting Anbarasu to inform Kodiarasu about the issue.
Meanwhile, Rudra feels marginalized in her party due to her gender. She uncovers a scandal involving Arivazhagan (Namo Narayana), the State Education Minister, who fabricated his educational credentials. She leaks this information to the Democratic party, leading to Arivazhagan’s disqualification and subsequent by-elections in Pollachi. Rudra rises to become the interim District Secretary, even ousting the former minister.
The story intertwines personal relationships and political struggles, creating a compelling narrative of ambition, loyalty, and rivalry.
