Storyline: On her way back home to Boston after purchasing car parts in Wichita, June Havens (Cameron Diaz) encounters Roy Miller (Tom Cruise) twice at the airport and is rescheduled to a later flight. CIA Agent John Fitzgerald (Peter Sarsgaard), suspecting June of collaborating with Roy, ensures she boards the same plane. While June is in the restroom, Roy overpowers the passengers and crew, who are actually agents sent by Fitzgerald, and crash-lands the plane in a cornfield. He then drugs June, warning her that agents will target her.
Upon waking at home, June prepares for her sister April’s (Maggie Grace) wedding and learns April plans to sell their father’s 1966 Pontiac GTO, which June intended to restore as a wedding gift. Fitzgerald and his agents pick up June, but Roy intervenes, kills several agents during a high-speed chase, and rescues her. June seeks refuge with her ex-boyfriend Rodney (Marc Blucas), a firefighter, but Roy arrives and pretends to take her hostage.
Roy convinces June she’s safer with him and reveals he possesses the Zephyr, a perpetual energy battery. Originally assigned to protect its inventor, Simon Feck, Roy was framed by Fitzgerald, who attempted to steal the battery. In Brooklyn, June and Roy find that Feck has gone into hiding, leaving behind a clue that he’s in the Alps. They are attacked by henchmen sent by Spanish arms dealer Antonio Quintana (Jordi Mollà). June is drugged again and drifts in and out of consciousness as they are captured and later escape to Roy’s remote island. June accidentally leads Quintana’s men to the hideaway after answering a call from her sister. Roy escapes Quintana’s drone attack in a helicopter, knocking June out to calm her fear of flying.
June wakes up on a train in Austria, where Roy reunites with Simon. They manage to kill Bernard (Falk Hentschel), an assassin hired by Quintana. In Salzburg, June follows Roy to a meeting with Naomi (Gal Gadot), Quintana’s henchwoman, where he offers to sell the Zephyr.
