Description: The 2004 film “Kinsey” explores the life of Professor Alfred Kinsey, who is interviewed about his sexual history. During a book party celebrating his latest publication on gall wasps, Kinsey proposes an open-forum sex education course to replace the anti-sex propaganda taught in health classes. The course is approved but restricted to teachers, graduate students, and married seniors. It quickly attracts large audiences.
Kinsey’s efforts to answer students’ questions reveal a lack of scientific data on human sexual behavior. This motivates him to distribute questionnaires in his class, uncovering a significant gap between societal assumptions and actual sexual practices. With funding from the Rockefeller Foundation, Kinsey and his team, including his close assistant Clyde Martin, travel across the country to interview people about their sexual histories.
