Description: “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword,” released in 2017, is a gripping tale of power, betrayal, and destiny. The story begins with Mordred, a ruthless warlock, leading his armies to attack Camelot, aiming to establish the rule of mages over humans. Uther Pendragon, the king of the Britons, infiltrates Mordred’s lair and beheads him, saving Camelot. However, Uther’s treacherous brother, Vortigern, who desires the throne, orchestrates a coup. Vortigern sacrifices his wife, Elsa, to moat hags to transform into a demon knight, killing Uther and his wife, Igraine, in combat. The only survivor is Uther’s son, Arthur, who drifts away in a boat and eventually reaches Londinium, where he is raised by prostitutes.
As Arthur grows up, he becomes a skilled fighter and a street-smart individual. One day, he and his friends confront a group of Vikings who had mistreated one of the prostitutes, forcing them to pay restitution. Later, Vortigern’s minions, the Blacklegs, raid the brothel. Arthur discovers that the Vikings were under Vortigern’s protection and attempts to escape the city but is captured. He is placed on a ship with other men, all forced to try to pull a mysterious sword from a stone near the castle. Arthur successfully removes the sword but is overwhelmed by its power and faints. Vortigern reveals Arthur’s true lineage in the dungeon.
Meanwhile, a mage claiming to be an acolyte of Merlin approaches Sir Bedivere, Uther’s former general. During Arthur’s planned execution, the mage uses her magic to create a diversion, allowing Bedivere’s men to rescue Arthur. Taken to Bedivere’s hideout, Arthur initially refuses to join their cause. The mage convinces Bedivere to take Arthur to the “Darklands,” where Arthur sees a vision of his father, Uther, sacrificing himself to save him and entomb the sword in stone made of his own body. Arthur learns that Vortigern persuaded Mordred to rebel against humanity and returns determined to destroy Vortigern.
