The story follows Mili Chakravarty, a physiotherapist working for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Her mother, Manju, a lively Punjabi woman, wishes for Mili to find a suitable and charming husband. Mili is called to assist a royal family in Rajasthan, where King Shekhar Singh Rathore is paralyzed from the waist down. She learns that 40 doctors have already left due to the demanding nature of the job.
Mili arrives at the royal palace and encounters the strict and disciplined queen, Nirmala Devi Rathore, who is unimpressed by Mili’s energetic and clumsy demeanor. Mili struggles to adapt to the rigid lifestyle of the royal household. She meets Prince Vikram Singh Rathore, whose reserved nature resembles that of his parents. Mili befriends Divya Rathore, the youngest princess, and encourages her passion for cinema, despite her family’s insistence on her pursuing business management.
When King Shekhar refuses to follow the prescribed exercises, Mili turns to Vikram for support. However, he echoes the queen’s sentiment, telling Mili to leave if she can’t handle the pressure. Frustrated, Mili accuses the family of being stubborn and self-centered, blaming them for not supporting Shekhar.
As Mili prepares to leave, she discovers from a servant that Shekhar’s injury resulted from a car accident that claimed his eldest son’s life. The tragedy changed the queen’s demeanor and turned the once-happy household into a somber one. Mili convinces Shekhar to overcome his guilt and engages him through conversation and video games, encouraging him to open up about the accident.
Over the next few months, Shekhar shows signs of improvement. He persuades Vikram to take Mili to Surajgarh Palace, where they spend time together. While shopping, Mili is kidnapped, and Vikram rescues her, leading to a shared kiss. Though they initially agree to suppress their feelings, they gradually fall in love.
