Description: A former athlete, haunted by the ghosts of her past, takes on the role of a physical education teacher at a girls’ school to help her family overcome a financial crisis. During her time there, she discovers the game of kho-kho and a group of talented students. Through them, she seeks to achieve the success she was unable to attain in her own career.
The story revolves around Maria Francis from Thiruvananthapuram, who missed her chance to join the national team due to unexpected circumstances. Filmmaker Rahul Riji Nair portrays her career disappointments through brief flashbacks, focusing more on her present journey rather than dwelling on the past.
Maria begins her new role at Perunthuruthu, a remote island school, where expectations from her are low. However, the game of kho-kho becomes a tool for her to inspire and empower a group of lively teenagers. Among them is Anju, a spirited and quick-tempered girl portrayed with authenticity by Mamitha Baiju. The narrative highlights how Maria, much like the legendary coach Nambiar and his protege Usha, transfers her passion and drive to the younger generation, guiding them toward a path of success and self-discovery.
