The story revolves around Mansoor Khan, a Muslim porter in the valley near the Kedarnath temple, and Mandakini “Mukku” Mishra, the daughter of a Hindu priest who manages a hostel for pilgrims. Mukku is engaged to the nephew of the head priest, but her engagement is rooted in family politics. Out of rebellion, she flirts with local boys to embarrass her father and fiancé. However, her dynamic changes when she meets Mansoor, who becomes her regular porter as she travels to her uncle’s shop in a nearby village.
Their bond deepens as they spend time together, culminating in a kiss during a rainstorm. However, their relationship faces resistance from Mukku’s family and community. Her jealous sister tries to sabotage their connection by convincing Mansoor that Mukku is merely toying with him. Despite this, Mukku remains devoted and insists that Mansoor will come for her.
When Mansoor attempts to rescue her, he is brutally beaten by her fiancé. Saved by a friend, he refuses to leave the valley without Mukku. The story highlights themes of love, societal barriers, and resilience against adversity.
