Description: Kasada Thapara 2021 is a film directed by Chimbu Deven, officially announced by actor Suriya via Twitter. Titled “Kasada Thapara” with the tagline “Tales of South Madras,” the movie is jointly produced by Venkat Prabhu’s Black Ticket Company and R.Ravindran of Trident Arts. Contrary to speculation, the film is not an anthology but a single story divided into six parts, featuring contributions from six cinematographers, six editors, and six music directors.
Following the announcement, details of the technical teams were shared on social media. A. Sreekar Prasad, who previously edited Chimbu’s film “Puli,” revealed the six editors working on the project: Anthony, Praveen KL, Vivek Harshan, Mu Kasi Viswanathan, Raja Mohammed, and Ruben. Notably, Raja Mohammed had collaborated with the director on two earlier films.
Cinematographer P. C. Sreeram announced the team of six cinematographers: Vijay Milton, M. S. Prabhu, Balasubramaniem, S. R. Kathir, R. D. Rajasekhar, and Sakthi Saravanan. S. R. Kathir had previously worked as the cinematographer for Chimbu’s “Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum.”
Gangai Amaren introduced the six music directors involved in the project, all collaborating with Chimbu for the first time: Yuvan Shankar Raja, Santhosh Narayanan, Sam CS, Sean Roldan, Premgi, and Ghibran.
A day after the technical teams were revealed, director A.R. Murugadoss shared the film’s first-look poster and motion poster on Twitter. The poster featured actors Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Sundeep Kishan, Harish Kalyan, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Venkat Prabhu, Premgi Amaren, Vijayalakshmi, and Regina Cassandra.
