**Storyline:**
Avinash Rajpurohit, played by Dulquer Salmaan, works at an IT company in Bengaluru. Despite his job, he feels unfulfilled and resents his boss. His strained relationship with his father, Prakash, who pressured him into the job and dismissed his passion for photography, adds to his dissatisfaction. One night, Avinash receives a call from a travel agency informing him of his father’s death in a road accident. The body is sent to him for cremation. However, when he and his friend Shaukat, a van driver portrayed by Irrfan Khan, prepare for the funeral, they discover they’ve been given the wrong corpse—an elderly woman.
Avinash learns that the body belongs to the mother of Tahira, a widow living in Kochi, and that his father’s remains and personal belongings are with her. Determined to set things right, Avinash and Shaukat embark on a journey to Kochi to exchange the bodies. Along the way, they receive a call from Tahira, who reveals that her teenage daughter Tanya, played by Mithila Palkar, has gone missing following the news of her grandmother’s death. The duo heads to Tanya’s college in Ooty, where they find her attempting to leave her hostel. Although initially distant and irritable, Tanya eventually joins them on their journey.
During their trip, they uncover a box containing the personal effects of another victim of the accident, Latha Nambiar, from Kottayam. They visit a wedding in Kumarakom, where they spend time with the groom. However, their plans are disrupted when a group of goons, who had been extorting Shaukat, steal his van. Avinash, Shaukat, Tanya, and an elderly shehnai player they meet at the wedding give chase but fail to recover the vehicle.
Later, Shaukat and the shehnai player are hospitalized. Shaukat develops feelings for a young woman, only to discover she is married to the shehnai player, leaving him disappointed.
The film captures the trio’s emotional and physical journey as they navigate personal loss, unexpected challenges, and newfound connections.
