Description: Kantara is a 2022 Indian action thriller film in the Kannada language, written and directed by Rishab Shetty. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, the movie stars Shetty as a Kambala champion who clashes with a dedicated DRFO officer, Murali, portrayed by Kishore. The supporting cast includes Achyuth Kumar and Sapthami Gowda. The film, set in the coastal region of Karnataka, was primarily shot in Keraadi. Principal photography commenced in August 2021, with Arvind S. Kashyap handling cinematography and B. Ajaneesh Loknath composing the music. The action sequences were choreographed by Vikram More, a two-time National Award-winning action director.

The storyline spans different eras. In 1847, a king strikes a pact with Panjurli Daiva, a local deity, to trade forest land with tribal communities in exchange for peace and prosperity. However, the king is warned that breaking this agreement would invoke the wrath of Guliga Daiva. In 1970, the king’s heir, driven by greed, demands the land back during the Bhoota Kola festival but faces the deity’s fury and perishes. By 1990, forest officer Muralidhar aims to preserve the forest, but his efforts are thwarted by Kambala athlete Kaadubettu Shiva, backed by Devendra Suttooru, the landlord and son of the deceased king.
The film is available in multiple languages, including Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, in various resolutions such as 4K, 1080p, 720p, and 480p.
