Description: An unknown entity has decided to wipe out humanity due to its violent tendencies. At the end of the Korean War, Air Force pilot Hal Jordan and his wingman, Kyle “Ace” Morgan, face an enemy attack but manage to survive. Meanwhile, in Gotham, J’onn J’onzz, the last survivor of the Green Martian race, is transported to Earth. Unable to return, he assumes a human disguise. In Las Vegas, Iris West is on the phone with her fiancé Barry Allen, known as the Flash, when Captain Cold arrives to rob a casino. The Flash swiftly intervenes, disarming Cold’s hidden bombs and capturing him, though Cold is later possessed by a mysterious entity.
Two years later, J’onn, now working as detective John Jones in Gotham, investigates a doomsday cult that worships the “Centre” and has kidnapped a child for a ritual. Partnering with Slam Bradley and Batman, they confront the cult, but a fire weakens J’onn’s powers. The cult leader, possessed by the entity, warns of impending judgment. Meanwhile, Hal trains under Colonel Rick Flag at Ferris Aircraft for a U.S. government mission to Mars, overseen by agent King Faraday.
Batman suggests collaborating with J’onn to investigate the cult, while the Flash narrowly escapes a government trap involving a robotic Gorilla Grodd. Disillusioned, the Flash retires. J’onn interrogates Harry Leiter, a former Ferris employee influenced by the Centre, who reveals details about the Mars mission. Faraday confirms the truth, and J’onn decides to return to Mars on the mission’s rocket. A confrontation on the launchpad damages the rocket, which malfunctions in space. Hal attempts to land but discovers the rocket carries weapons meant to destroy Mars. Ejected and saved by Superman, Hal watches as Flag detonates the rocket, leaving J’onn a prisoner.
