Description: In the 31st century, members of the Fatal Five—Mano, Tharok, and Persuader—attack the Legion of Super-Heroes’ headquarters to seize their time sphere. Despite efforts by Star Boy, Saturn Girl, and Brainiac 5 to stop them, the villains succeed. As the time sphere activates, Star Boy leaps into the fray and is transported alongside them. Arriving in the 21st century above Earth, Star Boy triggers a trap set by Brainiac 5, trapping the Fatal Five in a stasis field within the sphere. Star Boy lands in Gotham City, while the sphere ends up in Metropolis. Losing his vital medication during the rough landing, Star Boy’s mental stability deteriorates, leading to his arrest by Batman and confinement in Arkham Asylum. Meanwhile, Superman retrieves the time sphere and brings it to the Justice League for analysis.
Ten months later, Jessica Cruz battles trauma from a near-death experience involving a murderer who killed her friends, leaving her too afraid to leave her apartment. Her anxiety is compounded by being chosen by a Green Lantern ring and Wonder Woman’s attempts to recruit her into the Justice League. In Gotham, Miss Martian strives to earn Batman’s approval for League membership, but her inexperience often undermines her efforts. During an attempt to unlock the time sphere’s secrets, Mister Terrific accidentally disables the stasis field, freeing the Fatal Five. Superman and Mister Terrific confront the villains, but Superman is injured by Persuader’s axe, allowing the Fatal Five to escape.
A news report of the fight triggers Star Boy’s memories, prompting him to break out of Arkham. The Justice League pieces together that the attackers are time travelers and, based on Star Boy’s ramblings, deduce they are targeting Jessica. When the Fatal Five attack Jessica, Star Boy intervenes to save her, supported by Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Mister Terrific, and Miss Martian. After a fierce battle, the villains are forced to retreat. Star Boy and Jessica develop a close friendship in the aftermath of the encounter.
