Description: In 1981, a young adventurer fulfills his dream of exploring the Bolivian Amazon jungle with two friends and a guide who has a mysterious past. Their journey soon becomes a harrowing test of survival as they confront the dangers of the wild and the darkest aspects of human nature.
In the early 1980s, an Israeli adventurer named Yossi Ghinsberg travels to Bolivia with the goal of venturing into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. While in La Paz, he meets Marcus Stamm, a Swiss school teacher, and Kevin Gale, an American hiker and photographer. Staying at a hostel for the Israeli community, Yossi encounters a stranger in the market who inquires if he is American. Yossi denies this, and during their conversation, the stranger, an Austrian named Karl Ruprechter, claims to know of an Indigenous tribe deep in the jungle that they should visit. He insists he is familiar with the jungle and has connections with the tribe.
Excited by the prospect of exploring uncharted territory and discovering unknown tribes, Yossi convinces Marcus and Kevin to join the expedition. Initially skeptical, they eventually agree. The next day, the group meets Karl at a shop as he gathers supplies for the trip, surprising them when he tells them they will cover the costs.
The journey begins, and the group spends several days trekking through the jungle. They reach a village where it becomes evident that Karl knows the locals. After spending the night, they continue their journey the following morning.
As they progress, Marcus struggles with walking due to painful sores on his feet. His constant complaining begins to wear on Kevin and Yossi. The group discusses their next steps, with Karl suggesting he leave to seek help, but Kevin and Yossi oppose this plan.
The expedition quickly spirals into a desperate fight for survival as they face the brutal challenges of the jungle and their own humanity.
