**Storyline:**
Jodhaa, the daughter of Raja Bharmal of Amer, is engaged to Rajkumar Ratan Singh of Ajabgarh. Raja Bharmal declares his son Bhagwant Das as his heir, which angers Jodhaa’s cousin Sujamal, who believes he deserves the throne. Feeling betrayed, Sujamal leaves the kingdom to join the rebels. When Mughal Emperor Akbar plans to attack Amer, Raja Bharmal proposes a peace treaty by offering his daughter Jodhaa’s hand in marriage to Akbar to avoid war. Akbar agrees, seeing the union as a way to forge a lasting alliance between the Mughals and Rajputs.
However, this decision strains Raja Bharmal’s relationships with other Rajputana kings, including Rana Uday Singh. Jodhaa, who resents being used as a political tool, wishes to marry Ratan Singh but is forced into this arrangement. She considers seeking help from Sujamal but ultimately does not send the letter. Her mother suggests sending a servant in her place, but Jodhaa refuses, fearing the consequences if Akbar discovers the deception.
Before the wedding, Jodhaa confronts Akbar, demanding to retain her Hindu faith and requesting the construction of a temple. Surprisingly, Akbar agrees to her conditions. After their marriage, Jodhaa remains distant, but Akbar patiently hopes their relationship will flourish. Over time, they learn to respect and admire each other.
Meanwhile, Akbar’s nanny, Maham Anga, who despises Jodhaa, schemes to humiliate her in front of the emperor.
