**Storyline:**
A magical holiday story unfolds in an imaginative world, centered around an eccentric toymaker, his adventurous granddaughter, and a groundbreaking invention that has the potential to transform their lives forever.
Jeronicus Jangle, an inventor and owner of Jangles and Things, receives the final piece for his latest creation—a sentient matador doll named Don Juan Diego. Believing this invention will change his family’s fate, Jeronicus entrusts his apprentice, Gustafson, with the store and Diego while he celebrates. However, Diego, upset about losing his uniqueness through mass production, persuades Gustafson to betray Jeronicus. Gustafson steals Diego and the book of inventions, devastating Jeronicus.
Unable to prove Gustafson’s betrayal, Jangles and Things faces financial ruin, while Gustafson builds his own factory. After the death of his wife, Joanne, Jeronicus grows distant from his daughter, Jessica, who eventually moves away.
Thirty years later, Jangles and Things is struggling as a pawnshop, and Jeronicus has lost his creative spark. Postwoman Ms. Johnston, who admires him, tries to cheer him up. Meanwhile, banker Mr. Delacroix warns Jeronicus to pay his debts or produce a new invention by Christmas to save his shop.
Elsewhere, Jessica’s daughter, Journey, shares her grandfather’s passion for inventing. When a letter from Jeronicus arrives, Jessica sends Journey to stay with him for Christmas. Initially, Jeronicus seems indifferent to her presence, but he agrees to let her remain.
