Description: Jennifer’s Body, released in 2009, is a dark horror-comedy film. The story revolves around Anita “Needy” Lesnicki, a once insecure and studious teenager from Devil’s Kettle, Minnesota. Now a violent mental inmate, Needy recounts her past in a series of flashbacks while in solitary confinement. Since childhood, she has been friends with Jennifer Check, a popular cheerleader, despite their differences.
One evening, Jennifer takes Needy to a local dive bar to watch an indie rock band, Low Shoulder, perform. A sudden fire breaks out, killing several people. Jennifer leaves with the band, but later returns to Needy’s house covered in blood. She attempts to eat rotisserie chicken but vomits black fluid and nearly attacks Needy before fleeing. The next day, Jennifer dismisses Needy’s concerns, appearing unaffected by the tragedy.
As the story unfolds, Jennifer begins to exhibit strange behavior. She seduces and brutally kills the school’s football captain. Meanwhile, Low Shoulder gains fame for their false heroism during the fire and agree to perform at the school’s spring formal. A month later, Jennifer grows weaker and kills Colin, an alternative/emo student.
While Needy is with her boyfriend Chip, she senses something terrible has happened. She rushes out and almost hits Jennifer, who is soaked in blood. Jennifer reveals the truth: the band took her into the woods after the fire and tried to sacrifice her to Satan for fame and fortune. However, since Jennifer was not a virgin, the ritual backfired, leaving her possessed and hungry for flesh. Her first victim was Ahmet, a foreign exchange student presumed dead in the fire.
