In early August, during a press event for “Viruman,” Murugan officially revealed the project. A launch was scheduled for October, and G. V. Prakash Kumar was confirmed as the music composer. On September 11, the producers publicly announced the film, holding a ceremony in Chennai on the same day. The crew announced included composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematographer Ravi Varman, and editor Philomin Raj. At one point, reports suggested Vijay Sethupathi was being considered for the antagonist role, but later statements clarified that they had not reached out to the actor. Karthi reportedly underwent extensive training for his role. By early September, it was confirmed that Sunil would join the cast.
Initially, it was rumored that Rashmika Mandanna would star alongside Karthi again, following their collaboration in “Sulthan” (2021), but these reports turned out to be inaccurate.
