Description: “It Follows” (2014) is a gripping horror film that tells the story of a young woman named Annie who flees her home in terror, though no visible threat is present. She drives to the beach, where she calls her father and tearfully expresses her love for him. Tragically, by dawn, she is found brutally murdered. The focus then shifts to “Jay” Height, a student at Oakland University, who goes on a date with her new boyfriend, Hugh. During their movie outing, Hugh points out a mysterious girl in the theater, but Jay cannot see her, causing Hugh to panic and insist they leave. Later, after the two have sex in his car, Hugh drugs Jay and explains that he has passed on a sinister entity to her through their encounter. This relentless being will now pursue Jay wherever she goes, and if it catches her, it will kill her and return to hunt Hugh. To prove his claims, Hugh reveals a naked woman who begins walking toward Jay.
The next day, Hugh disappears, and Jay begins to experience terrifying encounters with the entity, which appears in various forms. Her friends—Kelly, Paul, and Yara—rally to support her, but they cannot see the creature. As the group investigates, they uncover Hugh’s true identity and track him down, determined to find a way to stop the entity before it claims Jay’s life. The film blends suspense and psychological horror as it explores themes of fear, relationships, and the unknown.
